I received the below "state regulated" life insurance offer that will take care of my final expenses up to $35,000.
While technically it is not a hoax, this is a lead generation tactic by insurance companies that is misleading by making people think:
1. It must be official to be "state regulated". Note in second image, it clearly states it is not affiliated with any government agency.
2. It must be notifying you about a new government benefit program. The truth is that this is nothing new or special. All insurance companies are regulated by the state.
No state benefit pays for someone’s funeral...which typically runs about $10,000. The only money you can possibly get for the end of life expenses is $255 from Social Security... if you qualify.
What will happen if you complete the form and mail it?
Expect a hoard of phone calls and mail solicitations from licensed insurance agents trying to sell life insurance. Also, many of these companies will sell your personal info to insurance companies who will try to sell you life insurance, supplemental Medicare insurance or burial insurance.
While I clearly believe having proper insurance is important, I do not support working with companies that use deceptive practices.
Keep making informed decisions!!🤑😍
