✅There has been a ton of changes due to covid this season. Until the IRS advises us tax professionals what to do we can’t move or make any changes as far as amending. If your return needs to be amended due to these changes their will be a upfront charge. This season is very different!!!Delays are expected especially since the tax season started late. If you haven’t received a letter from the IRS there is no reason to call or contact them. If you are calling the IRS back to back you may cause your return to delayed even more. Please don’t do that. I’m am staying on top of all of my clients returns. If it is something major I will update everyone. Right now if your return is still saying processed there is nothing wrong. Please wait until the IRS processes it and gives you a date. Your preparer hasn’t messed up your return or hasn’t stole your money. Please be patient as this year is different for everyone!

Long post* Hey guys I want to share some information with you. In the past taxpayer's have been able to receive Earned Income Credit by working (w2), or by being self employed. Unemployment has never allowed the taxpayer to get a bigger refund like the individual would from earning wages through employment. The reason is because unemployment has already been taxed (which is why an individual receiving Unemployment usually have a smaller refund) VS someone who has worked and earned wages all year. But some good news has been put in place for all taxpayer's for the 2020 tax year who received Unemployment. If you filed Unemployment last year, your refund will be smaller. However, a rule has been put in place due to the pandemic. So those of you who have dependents ,have the option to use your Income from 2019 or 2020 ( whichever will get you the largest refund) If you will earn a bigger refund from your 2019 Income, please choose that year. Times are hard for some and a bigger tax refund can help the American People. If you have any questions please reach out to your Income Tax Preparer.
