Better late than never! 🍍🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️
I’ve been meaning to share what an incredible experience it was helping organize the Indian River Networks 40th Pineappleman Triathlon with the Melbourne Beach Rotary Club!
This milestone event continued a four-decade tradition, bringing together nearly 650 athletes from across Florida, around the country, and even Brazil to compete in Florida’s oldest sanctioned triathlon!
One of my favorite stories: pro athlete Sam Hartle returned to race…20 years after watching his dad compete here as a 7‑year‑old. Talk about full circle moments! 🙌
And congratulations to Mary Swayze of Longmont, Colorado, who took first in the female division! She’s a familiar face in Melbeach, visiting family connected to LKC Honey. 🐝🍯
But the real inspiration? 💥
Bonnie Theall (pictured with me and Rotary President David Diloreto) — in her 80s and completing triathlons for 41 YEARS — competed in her very first Pineappleman this year! Absolute legend. 💪
We hope to see everyone back next year for another amazing race!
