Many of you probably got information in the mail. Take some time to read this information about the advanced child tax credit. It's not free money, they are advancing the credit sooner than when you file your taxes, so if you usually owe or are close to even, you will want to opt out. Receiving this advanced child tax credit will reduce your refund by half of the 2021, so either $1500 or $1800 per child depending on age.

I know there are a lot of questions about the new federal stimulus bill that was just passed, particularly around the UC change and making the first $10,200 tax free for those who make less than $150,000.
