It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.

To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family.

He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.

While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends.

We know many of you had heard about his recent hospitalization, and we are truly grateful for the prayers and support you sent his way.

As we grieve this loss, we kindly ask for privacy for our family during this time.

Thank you for loving him with us.

With love,
The Norris Family

This is Adios CT from last year. This could have ended a lot of careers. The entire left side of his airway is crushed and for the ones who really pay attention, that eye is generally leaking because that tear duct is crushed too. Last year, we opted to not correct surgically because his quality of life would still be good when it healed, and the risk of him getting up from anesthesia was too high in my opinion once we consulted with vets; who in this case were 50/50 for/against surgery.

Dr Marsh said it best though and said if he chips a knee getting up, it wouldn’t have been worth it.

This year, it was worth the risk of surgery for long term integrity of the joint. So I made the best call given the information at hand.

I share this in hopes people can learn from it. I guarantee a lot of people have dealt with it and don’t share. They are worried about potential resale later, etc. it personally wouldn’t scare me on any horse, bone issues aren’t very scary, soft tissue is.

Anyways, with half an airway and a deviated septum, he ran countless 16’s on standards, won another 5 Pro Rodeos, won a derby and had one heck of a finals. Ocassionally I can hear it a little muffled when he’s eating grass. He did this in turn out when I tried to give him a month off because he did so well in California. 🙃 I still turn him out too. Lol. Boys will be boys and any athlete is going to have some things… I know I personally would not pass a vet check if I sat Indian style for about 15 seconds. 😆

All good stories have struggles. You can’t bat 1000 all the time. This is just part of performance horses, and I’m fairly certain this won’t be the last thing, but I am sure grateful for the outstanding team of vets always on his side. 🫶🏻

The best part about owning all my own horses is that I get to share what in most cases would be considered “privileged information.”

In the real world, lots of people and athletes are sporting all types of screws, pins, plates, etc… that’s what orthopedics are here for. 🙂

THIS!!!

Making them do more work in the opposite direction, (or just more work in general), so then you release in the direction and maneuver you want them to do. As long as that maneuver is less work than what you were originally asking them to do. So that becomes the release.

This has been the lightbulb in my brain recently. It makes so many things make sense!
