Please be careful as you move through town as there are still power lines and trees crossing roadways, and debris in roadways also.

If you have a graduating senior this year, have them reach out to me for a scholarship application.

AFR awards college scholarships annually for young people who have been active participants in the Youth Program. Students can apply for either the Incoming College Freshman Scholarship or the Continuing Education Scholarship.

Scholarship deadline is April 1, 2026.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on the following criteria:

Involvement in the Youth Program
Leadership activities
Academic achievements
Applicant or a member of applicant’s immediate family must be a policyholder of AFR Insurance.

Here are some ways you can prepare your home for wildfire.

Home Zone 0-30 ft
- 5 ft+ between buildings & tree canopies
- 18 ft+ between tree canopies
- Mow & Weedeat grass around buildings

Reduced Fuel Zone 20-70 ft
-12 ft+ between tree canopies
- 6ft+ from ground to lowest limb
- No Cedars - highly flammable, volatile fuel
