🏡 Homebuyer Myth vs. Fact
Myth: Your down payment is money you’re paying to someone else.
Fact: Your down payment goes toward the purchase of your home and reduces the amount you need to borrow. It’s not a fee paid to the lender it’s part of your investment in your home.
For example, on a $200,000 home, a $10,000 down payment means you’re financing $190,000 instead of the full purchase price.
