Sometimes the home that once fit your life perfectly starts to feel a little tight.

The kitchen table is doing triple duty.
The closets are overflowing.
The kids need more space.
The garage is full before the cars even pull in for the night.

If you’re starting to wonder whether it is time to move up, there’s a few pieces to think through before you list your current home or start shopping.

How much equity do you have?
What monthly payment feels comfortable?
Should you buy first or sell first?
What loan options might fit your next move?

These are exactly the conversations I help with.

When your home no longer fits your life, let’s talk through what comes next.

Thinking about building a home someday?

A construction loan can feel intimidating at first, but it doesn’t have to be when you have the right team guiding you.

Building gives you the chance to create something that fits your life from the ground up — the kitchen layout, the mudroom, the extra garage space, the land, the view, the details that matter to your family.

Before you fall in love with floor plans or start pricing out countertops, it’s helpful to talk through financing first.

I can help you understand what the process may look like, what questions to ask, and how to prepare before you break ground.

When you’re buying a home, who you work with matters.

You deserve someone who answers your questions, explains the process clearly, and understands the communities you are buying in.

That’s one of the things I love about being part of a hometown community bank. I’m not just looking at a loan file. I’m helping neighbors, families, first-time buyers, lifelong residents, and people putting down roots in places I care about too.

Your mortgage should feel personal because your home is personal.
When you’re ready to take the next step, I would be happy to help you get pre-qualified and feel more confident about what comes next.

Let’s clear up a common homebuying myth:

You do NOT need perfect credit to start a mortgage conversation.

So many people wait because they assume their credit has to be flawless before they can even ask questions. But the truth is, your first conversation with a lender can help you understand exactly where you stand and what steps can help you move forward.

Sometimes you’re closer than you think.
Sometimes there is a simple plan to get you there.

Please do not count yourself out before we talk.

Buying your first home can feel like everyone else got a handbook… and you somehow missed the meeting.

What do I need saved?
When should I talk to a lender?
Is my credit “good enough”?
How much house can I actually afford?

You are not supposed to know all of this already. That is exactly why I’m here.

The first step is not touring homes. It is getting pre-qualified so you understand your numbers, your options, and what feels comfortable for your life.

No pressure. No judgment. Just answers.

If buying a home is on your mind this year, let’s have a conversation.

Dreaming about a lake place, a weekend getaway, or a second home in Michigan?

You’re not alone. There’s something pretty special about having a place where your family can slow down, gather, and make memories.

Before you start scrolling listings and imagining summer mornings by the water, it is smart to understand the financing side.

Second homes can come with different requirements than a primary residence, and knowing what to expect early can help you shop with more confidence.

Whether it is a cottage, cabin, lake home, or future retirement spot, I can help you talk through your options.

There’s something special about buying a home in a small town.

You start recognizing cars at the grocery store.
Your kids see their teacher at the ice cream shop.
Friday night football feels like a community event.
And “home” starts to mean more than just the house.

That’s one of the reasons I love helping people buy homes here in Southwest Michigan.

Whether you are buying your first home, moving closer to family, upsizing, downsizing, or coming back home after years away, I would be honored to help you understand your mortgage options.

Your home journey deserves local guidance from someone who knows the area and cares about the people in it.

A gentle reminder: you are not behind.

Maybe your friends bought homes years ago.
Maybe you had to rebuild after a hard season.
Maybe life got expensive.
Maybe you are just now feeling ready to ask questions.

And that’s okay.

Homebuying isn’t a race, and there is no one “right” timeline.

My job is to meet you where you are, help you understand your options, and give you a clear next step when you’re ready.
No pressure. Just a real conversation.

When you’re buying a home, who you work with actually matters.
Like, a lot.
Because you don’t want to feel like some random file floating around in a giant system somewhere.
You want someone who answers your questions.
Explains the weird parts.
Doesn’t make you feel dumb for asking normal things.
And actually understands the small-town Michigan market.
That’s why local lending matters.
You’re not just a number at Sturgis Bank.
You’re a first-time buyer, a growing family, a downsizer, a builder, a dreamer, or someone just trying to make the next smart move.
And I’d be really honored to help with that.
Thinking about buying, building, or refinancing? Give me a call.

Let’s talk about credit.

Actually, let’s talk about how weird people feel about talking about credit.

A lot of people are nervous to ask mortgage questions because they think their credit is “bad” or “not good enough” or they’re going to get judged.

You’re not.

Credit is just one part of the whole picture. It’s not your personality. It’s not your worth as a human. It’s just a thing we look at.

Maybe you’re ready now.

Maybe you need a little time and a plan.

Either way, both are perfectly normal.

So if your credit is the thing making you avoid asking about buying a house…ask anyway.

Remember, I’m here to help you.
