We’ve all seen it…
A family loses a loved one or faces a sudden illness, and within hours a GoFundMe is set up. It’s heartbreaking—not because people don’t want to help, but because families are left depending on donations during their darkest moments.
The truth is: GoFundMe isn’t a financial plan.
A real financial plan ensures that your family isn’t left wondering how they’ll cover the mortgage, medical bills, or day-to-day life if the unexpected happens.
I can say from personal experience that my dad spent the last weeks of his life stressing about how my mom and sisters were going to be without him. He was their everything. Thankfully he had mortgage protection, but he didn’t have any life insurance to replace his income as he had thought through his work nor did he have anything to help them while he was out of work and in the hospital.. Cancer, car accidents, and natural disasters have no timeline or mercy.. They do not care about those you leave behind, they do not have age restrictions and they do not care about how it will affect your job, income or household.
It’s not about fear—it’s about love, responsibility, and peace of mind. 💙
