Earl and I were honored to be invited to a Balinese wedding in Ubud, and it changed how we think about celebration and consumption.

The decorations? All from nature. Flowers, leaves, fruit, palm fronds — arranged with beautiful artistry. Even the whole roasted pig was carved and displayed like floral sculpture. 🐷🌺

The plates? Woven bamboo. The venue? The family home of the groom.

Besides relatives, lots of community members and friends came out to support and celebrate.

Guests wore traditional sarongs they already owned. Multiple generations — grandmothers, parents, toddlers — sat together on chairs and woven mats and prayed side by side.

No vendors. No registry. No debt.
Just community, culture, craft, and deep intention.

America could learn a lot. 🙏🏾

Getting my finances together for 2026 💰💰💰💰💰💰

Even after 20+ years as “The Money Coach,” I’m always refining how my hubby Earl and I manage our money.
Between rental properties in multiple states, business income, and our goal to get our youngest Alexis through college AND law school debt-free… it’s a lot to track. 😅

That’s why I’m excited about — a new (FIN) client that brings all your accounts into one clean dashboard.

Monarch tracks your spending, net worth, and even catches sneaky subscription price increases. No spreadsheets required. 🙌🏾

My FIN colleagues and from the podcast have an amazing deal: 50% OFF your first year with Monarch using the code CATCHINGUP50!

If 2026 is your year to finally get a handle on your money, check it out.

The average first-time homebuyer in America is now 46 years old.
That’s the new normal — and honestly, it says a lot.

With housing prices over $400,000 and interest rates still high, it’s no wonder people are waiting longer than ever to buy their first home.

But here’s what I say all the time:

👉🏾 It doesn’t matter if you’re 36, 46, or 66. If homeownership is your dream, don’t let anybody tell you it’s out of reach.

Yes, the numbers are real:
• A 10% down payment on a $400K home = $40,000
• Most Americans don’t even have $500 saved
• Affordability has become the biggest barrier

But the dream isn’t dead, it just requires planning, education, and strategy.

📘 Follow me for the tools and motivation to help you get there.
You can still become a homeowner on your timeline, not society’s.

💬 Drop a ❤️ if you’re working toward your first home, no matter your age.

Day 1 at the National Bank of Rwanda, discussing how to build financial literacy infrastructure for an entire nation. 🇷🇼

Grateful for , the Association of Microfinance Institutions in Rwanda, and the opportunity to co-create alongside visionary leaders who care about consumer protection as much as financial innovation.

More tomorrow as we dive deeper into learning about the Central Bank’s financial literacy working groups. This is what partnership looks like. 🙏🏾

Side note: I loved the beautiful Central Bank building and how they brought nature and the outdoors inside.

These 2 strategies helped me recover from 9 of the 10 “Dreaded D’s”

You’ve heard me talk about budgeting, credit, and investing. Today, I want to share something different — the emotional and community-based strategies that quietly saved me.

1️⃣ Build community. When you’re down, don’t go it alone. Whether you’ve lost a job, a home, or a loved one, support systems speed up recovery.

2️⃣ Prioritize your mental health. Rest is a financial strategy. Before you try to replace what you lost, take a moment to care for yourself.

📘 These lessons are straight from Bounce Back, my newest book on how to recover and rebuild when life knocks you off track --> https://lynnettekhalfanicox.com/books/

They say food brings people together and this night proved it. 🍽️

The Financial Influencer Network gathered for dinner to celebrate connection, culture and collaboration.

Chef Casey of Astor's Table created an unforgettable meal that matched the energy of the evening: rich, inspiring, and full of flavor.

When great minds meet over great food, the conversation always turns to purpose.
