🚨 NEW MEDICARE GLP-1 BRIDGE PROGRAM 🚨
Starting July 1, 2026
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced a new Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program designed to help eligible Medicare Part D members access certain weight-loss medications at a reduced cost.
📅 Program Dates
July 1, 2026 – December 31, 2027
✅ Medications That May Be Included
• Foundayo® (tablet)
• Wegovy® (injection or tablet)
• Zepbound® KwikPen (injection)
❌ Not Included
• Ozempic®
• Mounjaro® (tirzepatide)
Who May Qualify?
✔ Active Medicare Part D coverage
✔ Prescription from your healthcare provider
✔ Meet CMS eligibility and prior authorization requirements
Important Things to Know
• This program is administered by CMS.
• Eligibility is determined by CMS, not your insurance company.
• The program operates outside of your Medicare Part D plan coverage.
• Members currently receiving GLP-1 coverage through their Part D plan may not qualify for the Bridge Program.
• Final eligibility and cost details are still being released by CMS.
