Your HR department may not tell you this… but I will. 👀

Just because your employer offers health insurance does NOT automatically mean you, or your family, have to take it. Most people never compare options because they don’t realize they can. They just enroll during onboarding and hope for the best.🤞

If the coverage offered through your job is considered unaffordable based on your household income, you and/or your family members may still qualify for Marketplace subsidies. There may also be additional alternative options available.

And for a lot of families, that matters. Because sometimes the employee plan looks manageable… until you add a spouse and kids and suddenly the premium costs way more than your grocery bill. 💸 🫣

That’s why it’s important to compare:

☑️ Monthly premiums
☑️ Deductibles
☑️ Total out-of-pocket exposure
☑️ Plan networks

Your health insurance card tells you more than you think. 👀 Most people carry this card every day and still don’t understand it.

Your health insurance card has 3 numbers you should actually know. Knowing these numbers can save you from surprise bills:

✅ Deductible - what you pay BEFORE insurance starts sharing costs
✅ Out-of-pocket maximum - the most you’ll pay in a plan year for covered care
✅ Copays - your fixed costs for visits, etc.

Insurance gets a lot less confusing when you know what to look for. Understanding these 3 numbers can help you make smarter healthcare decisions.

This one’s for you, business owners. 🫶 You prayed for this season… but no one warned you it would come with this too:

• feeling alone even when you’re surrounded by people
• outgrowing old versions of yourself
• making hard decisions nobody claps for
• setting boundaries and feeling guilty after
• carrying pressure quietly
• not always knowing the next step
• crying, praying, and still showing up anyway
• wondering if all this sacrifice will be worth it

As someone who is self-employed, I understand these feelings more than I can explain.

People see the business, the flexibility, the growth…

BUT they don’t always see the weight behind it. The late nights. The uncertainty. The responsibility of holding everything together while still trying to take care of yourself and your family.

That’s why I care so deeply about what I do as a health insurance broker.

Just a little behind the scenes of why my reels randomly cut off sometimes. 😂

It’s usually my kids suddenly needing another snack, my husband walking by, or me forgetting what I’m saying mid-sentence… and now a spider decided to audition. 🥴🕷️

Creating content is already a group project I didn’t agree to. Not today, spider. 🙅🏼‍♀️
