Let's start Monday off with a walk down memory lane. One of our long-time employees is retiring after almost 40 years with us, and rather than disposing of things, she is giving back all of her items she's collected or items that were handed down to her through others.
She gave us a copy of the 1963 Annual Meeting and history of the credit union (we were 25 years old then). In this packet it says that our credit union was mentioned in a 1958 national publication for credit unions.
Well, we had to locate it and we did! This is quite the blast from the past, going over our "Junior Program." It's a pretty neat program from the time, but it sure does sound like a lot of work for the then 2-person staff at the credit union. The article interviews 6th, 7th and 8th graders from Holy Family School. Do you see any familiar names? If we're doing our math correctly, a sixth grader in 1958 would have been 12ish years old...so that means in 2026 they would be at or near 80 years old.
We won't tell unless they want to make themselves known, but some of these names are familiar to us!
We hope you liked this memory lane jaunt!
