Wow oh Wow!!!!

It was so exciting to be one of the Insightful Accountant Top 10 Awardees at the Scaling New Heights 2024 Conference this year.

I won the "Top QuickBooks Enterprise Large Business Pro Advisor Award".

It was a great conference with wonderful sessions to choose from, enough time to spend with the Exhibitors, to socialize and mingle with old friends and meet new ones. There was plenty to say about AI with many opinions on what it will do in the future and how it can and should be used now in the Accounting profession.

There definitely was a lot of walking involved but it was in Orlando with gorgeous weather and a great pool area to sit and relax with drinks, friends, and sun.

I am posting this a bit late after the conference ended but it's been very hectic catching up with work and family time.

I always believe It's better late than never.

Anything to share about what is going on in your life? I'd love to hear about it.

I had the most amazing Sunday ever!!!!!

Could you imagine I had

"3 GRANDCHILDREN'S GRADUATIONS ALL IN ONE DAY"

Not only that, but the times didn't conflict with each other.
My granddaughter graduated Junior High at 9:30 AM, my other granddaughter graduated High School at 12:30 PM and my Grandson graduated High School at 3:15 PM all in the same neighborhood physically near each other.

Now wasn't that so accommodating?

To top it all off we had a family Bar-B-Que to end this perfect day.
Hashem has benched me with this beautiful day of Nachas. I was almost afraid to write about it but I needed to share it.

Whether it's a casual encounter or a formal meeting, treat every interaction as a chance to shine. You never know when that person you're chatting with could become a valuable lead, a glowing recommendation, or a fantastic contact!

It's amazing how life comes full circle! 🔄

Just recently, a friend from a networking group I attended over 15 years ago reached out to me out of the blue. Guess what? He remembered me and thought I'd be perfect for a special opportunity! 📞💼

I'm thrilled to share that I've been invited to lead a 1-hour QuickBooks Online webinar💻 for a group of around 30 business professionals!

🎉✨ Stay tuned for more details—I'll be sure to share the specifics with all of you who might be interested in joining!

Just like with your personal life, it’s important to choose your battles wisely when working with clients.

I had a client that was very difficult to work with.

She was always making me wait when we had meetings and got the data to me past the due date.

She knew these delays were pushing off the go-live date, which was frustrating, but I realized that this was the way she worked and it wasn’t going to change.

What I didn’t tolerate was one irrational employee who voiced her hate of the software, while also recognizing that the software was helping to better streamline processes.

I encounter this all the time, where people resist at first and don’t like change. This was intolerable and affected the others by being disruptive. After the 3rd session, I confronted her and said if she really felt this wasn’t going to work we should speak to her boss about this.

From that day on she was the perfect student. As a matter of fact, she called me 3 months later thanking me for making her more productive and efficient at her job and that she was leaving earlier because of the time saved. That was a very gratifying moment and made me realize why I love what I do.

55% of all small business owners say that the biggest motivation for opening their own business is getting to be their own boss.

The reason I opened my own business was because I am the type of employee that gave their all to the job, went above and beyond what my job entailed and had a very ungrateful and obnoxious boss.

I am so grateful for that experience because even though I am a solopreneur and have no employees, it gave me a great life lesson on how to act and treat my clients, vendors and really anyone involved in my life. I try my best to accommodate my clients so that it is easy for them to work with me, my relationship with them is very important and everyone is treated with respect even though there may be disagreements and misunderstandings.

I like being my own boss because I run my own business the way I want to, create my own work schedule, and love the work that I do. Don’t get me wrong. It is not all rosy. It is very stressful, demanding, difficult and challenging with many highs and lows but with all of that, I feel great with what I accomplish.

How about you? Employee or Boss?

Your business is more of a hobby if you are not making money. Properly managing your businesses finances can contribute to the success of your business and make sure you are hitting your profit goals.

One way that will help keep your finances organized is by considering how you want to receive payments. Every business wants to make receiving payments a smooth and easy process. This decision depends on how your business works. If you are providing a service, you may want to send invoices but if you are selling products, you may want to accept credit card payments at your location.

Do you provide a service or sell products? What has worked best for you in the past when accepting payments? Let me know below!

“According to research by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), businesses lose an estimated 5% of their annual revenue as a result of fraud committed by employees, managers, owners and executives.”

This is where the QuickBooks Audit trail comes in.

The QuickBooks audit trail is invaluable. It quickly bolds and italicizes any transactions that have been manipulated or changed. This will allow you to notice any differences in your transactions during your monthly review. It will help you uncover fraud more easily, limiting the emotional and financial impact to your organization. It is a great first step to take and use to try to get a handle if fraud is suspected.

Did you know that more than 70% of all small business owners ranked their happiness level higher than 5 on a scale of 1 to 10?

Aside from the financial rosiness, small business owners seem to have a better-work life balance, more job satisfaction and an overall feeling of positivity.

One way that helps me balance my work-life is by utilizing my google calendar. I use google calendar which I color coordinate depending on what the task is. My categories are,
1- Client work I need to do
2-Personal stuff I need to do
3-Outside business meetings
4-Training sessions
5-Webinars
6-Work calls and emails

This way I can make sure I have time for both personal things and work things without letting them interfere with each other.

What tools do you use to keep a schedule?
What do you feel helps you best when trying to balance a work- life balance?

Small business owners may be great at what they do but they might not be so comfortable with how to monitor the overall financial health of their business. There are many reports to run and numbers to check; it can be hard to know what to track.

One of the things you can do is analyze your operating expenses. When businesses grow, owners will sometimes invest the increased revenue back in the company without checking if their expenses are outpacing revenue.

You want to turn to your profit and loss statement and make sure you are looking at your expenses month by month and compare it to revenue month by month. Are expenses creeping up to revenue? Have they already surpassed it? If so, it’s time to correct course and reduce expenses.
