This Week in the Market - 5/8/2026
US Stock Markets stayed volatile this week as AI-fueled tech stocks pushed the Nasdaq higher, while oil swings and inflation fears kept investors on edge. U.S. stocks are on the rise this morning after yesterday’s sell-off of more than 550 points on the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The sell-off was triggered by a sharp increase in oil prices. Today, prices are down slightly, helping the market claw back some of yesterday’s losses. An attack on an oil facility in the United Arab Emirates, along with concerns over further attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, contributed to yesterday’s decline.
