This past weekend, I had the opportunity to attend the 2026 NAWIC Leadership Summit, and it was an experience I'll never forget.
I've attended many NAWIC events over the past year, but spending an entire weekend together was something completely different. It gave me the chance to truly connect with women who have spent 20+ years building careers in the construction industry, hear their stories, and learn from their experiences.
One of the most impactful parts of the weekend was our leadership training. We spent time understanding our core behaviors, communication styles, and how to recognize the strengths in others. It challenged me to think differently about leadership, not everyone is motivated the same way, communicates the same way, or solves problems the same way.
One of my biggest takeaways was that becoming a better leader starts with understanding yourself. When you know your own strengths and understand how others are wired, you're better equipped to encourage them, communicate effectively, and help them succeed.
I left the weekend feeling inspired, challenged, and incredibly grateful to be surrounded by such accomplished women who were willing to share their knowledge and invest in the next generation of leaders.
