Things to keep in mind if you get arrested in Las Vegas
No one likes to think that they could find themselves in a position where they’re being placed into the back of a police car. If you happen to find yourself on the wrong side of a set of handcuffs, be sure to keep the following things in mind.
You won’t be able to talk your way out of an arrest. Police and sheriff’s deputies have heard every excuse in the book. Your best course of action is to cooperate.
You have the right to remain silent. Use it. You should absolutely provide basic information when asked, such as your full name, address and date of birth but you’re not required to discuss your case. Doing so without an attorney present could make matters much, much worse.
Don’t try to make a run for it. This is guaranteed to get you in trouble and it will lead to additional charges being filed against you, which will cause your bail bondsamount to be higher.
Contact a bondsman right away. A Nevada bondsman will be able to monitor where you are in the booking process and they’ll be able to ensure that your bail bonds are posted as soon as the jail will allow it.
