Happy Wednesday Everybody! How about a barn fact to get your day going?

Did you know... that the construction of barns actually date back to the seventeenth century in England? The style is still used today and is aptly called "English-style" barns.

What does a english-style barn look like? check it out below!

Pictured below is the Lawrence Barn found in Vermont.

“I love when you walk in our barn you can feel the history and the spirit. I love its stubborn Wyoming solidarity. Our barn has weathered 100 freezing winters and sunny afternoons and everything in between.” Thank you Candace for sharing the love for your historic building! Check out her page Corthell Dairy Barn Rehabilitation, and support the project!

Located in West Laramie off of Highway 130 stands the 1910 wood frame Corthell Dairy Barn. Owner Candace Pisciotti was awarded a Historic Architecture Assistance Fund grant in 2016 to assess the barn’s condition. She hopes to develop a plan to preserve the building for future use.

A sustained and passionate voice in support of the historic tax credit is essential, now that tax bill writing has begun. Please go one step further and call your member of Congress at (202) 224-3121 now with the message that this vital program must be kept off the chopping block and remain in communities where it generates jobs, protects our history, and creates places where we want to live, work, and play.

Below are a few facts to deliver during your conversation:

The historic tax credit has—
Created more than 2.4 million well-paying local jobs;
Leveraged $131.8 billion in private investment in our communities; Generated more tax revenue than it has cost the Treasury; And preserved more than 42,293 buildings that form the historic fabric of our nation.

Thank you for helping us re-double our efforts to deliver the strong message that the historic tax credit is simply too vital a program to lose!

Hello friends! An exciting update for our barn project- a grant from the Historic Alliance provided funding for an assessment to be done by a historical architectual firm out of Casper and an assessment by a structural engineer. They came a couple weeks ago and measured the entire barn and are currently drawing up plans and reports that we can use to apply for more grants (to start actual rehab work)!!! :) Thanks for your support!!! 😊
