It has been 1530 days 8 hours and 6 minutes since I have stood on my own two feet. Before my accident I didn't know what a spinal cord injury was. Many people tell you you could die in a car accident but no one tells you you could come out a changed person. I remember how hard the beginning was, I thought for many months how my life was over and all of the things that I never got to do or simple things I thought id never be able to do like walk my dogs, ride rollercoasters or even drive. It turns out I was wrong I could do all those things and more. Life is so very different now and although I still wish this never happened to me (or anyone for that matter) I am happy to be living life and breathing (which I also could not do on my own after the accident). Life is about progress and although we have setbacks we still have keep pushing no matter what obstacles are placed in front of us. Whether its physical or mental you have the strength to push on, it starts with believing in yourself. As always be thankful for what you have, because it could be taken away at any second never take anything for granted. I am thankful to of had these amazing memories BUT I am also thankful to be here now to look back at these. Never give up
