🚨 FRAUD ALERT: Fake Job Checks Are Making the Rounds

Looking for a work-from-home job? Be careful. Scammers are using fake job offers and fraudulent payroll checks to convince people to deposit a check, purchase equipment, and send money back.

Here’s the red flag: A legitimate employer will not send you a check and ask you to send money back.

If you receive a check from a potential employer:
❌ Don’t deposit it based on their instructions.
❌ Don’t send money back.
❌ Don’t purchase gift cards, send a wire transfer, or use cryptocurrency.
✅ Stop, verify the employer, and contact UTFCU if you’re unsure.

We’re seeing this scam, and we want you to know what to watch for.

Things got a little unpredictable at UT Martin Welcome Weekend when students stopped by UTFCU’s Plinko Your Money!

Students dropped the Plinko chip, faced real-life college money scenarios and learned how everyday decisions can impact their finances. From surprise expenses and subscriptions to unexpected income and fraud, students had to earn, spend, save and make their money move along the way.

The best part? They got to learn by playing. 🎯💰

We loved getting to connect with students, have some fun and share a few money moves they can take with them into college and beyond.

What a great way to kick off Welcome Weekend! 🧡

It was an honor for UT Federal Credit Union to partner with the University of Tennessee at Martin as a sponsor of 2026 Welcome Weekend and welcome students to campus.

We kicked things off Thursday night by joining The Blue Swing Shaved Ice to serve up snowcones to students as they celebrated the start of their college journey. 🍧

For us, it’s about more than sponsorships. It’s about investing in our community, investing in Martin, and investing in UTM and its students.

Today is I Love My Credit Union Day, but for us, it’s about something bigger than a hashtag.

It’s about the first car that gave someone independence.
The first home where memories begin.
The small business that finally got its chance.
The student who opened an account before their first semester.
The family who found someone willing to listen instead of just saying “no.”

That’s what we love most about being a credit union.
