💜 August is World Cancer Support Month
This month, we recognize World Cancer Support Month by honoring the courage of cancer survivors, supporting those currently receiving treatment, and acknowledging the families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals who walk alongside them every day.
For many retired Department of Energy (DOE) and Atomic Weapons Employer (AWE) workers, a cancer diagnosis can be the result of years of dedicated service in environments where exposure to hazardous materials was a reality. Your service helped strengthen our nation's security, and your health and well-being continue to matter.
If you're an EEOICPA cardholder, remember that you're not alone. In addition to your covered medical benefits, resources like the National Supplemental Screening Program (NSSP) provide eligible retired energy workers with free health screenings to support early detection and ongoing health monitoring.
