COTA for #ColinBear

COTA for #ColinBear In December 2016, Colin was diagnosed with a rare mitochondrial disease that ultimately led to liver failure. Colin is the son of Suzanne and Christopher Swan.

After spending less than 3 weeks on the transplant list, he fortunately received a new liver, and is currently in recovery. With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raisin

g funds for transplant-related expenses. In the Atlanta area, volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like local boy, Colin Swan. Born in 2015, Colin was diagnosed with liver failure before his first birthday. The doctors at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston performed a life-saving liver transplant on December 22, 2016. An estimated $60,000 is being raised by Cummings volunteers.
