H.A.L.O. (Help A Little One) We are a small nonprofit charity committed to helping children. Please join our H.A.L.O missions. You’ll feel good and we will too. H.A.L.O.

is a small non-profit charity created in 2009 by two caring persons: a grandmother (Fran) and her granddaughter (Sam). Together they decided that they could help children and teach children about helping other children. Along with raising funds, Halo raises awareness about needy local children and those in nearby Haiti. Initially HALO focused on three areas: providing nutritional supplements for b

abies in Haiti; providing clothes, toys and goods for children in homeless shelters; and providing gifts for underprivileged children during the holiday season. Hoping that Sam (now age 14) would learn the satisfaction that comes with helping others, Fran arranged for HALO’s work to be done, to the extent possible, by Sam. These days, more young people have joined Sam on a HALO’s “Junior Board,” and are committed to HALO’s mission to help those in need. Over time, the Junior Board has added new activities, including assisting children that have been abused, abandoned or neglected in the Miami/Dade area. Through community efforts, HALO has obtained and provided books and games to caretakers of such children; and provided badly needed household and toiletry items to young adults—at Casa Valentina and Emmaus’s Place—who have “aged out” of the foster care system. We also have purchased school supplies, snacks and other needed items for the Barnyard, a community center in Coconut Grove which provides free after school care to children with domestic and financial hardships. We provide 100% of donations to the children. Any administrative costs are underwritten by the board of directors. For more information contact:

De-clutter your house for a good cause! HALO's 3rd Annual Garage Sale is Saturday, Nov. 4 and we need your stuff! We will donate all proceeds to the UNICEF Hurricane Maria Fund--they are on the ground helping children who are victims of the hurricane in Puerto Rico! Please let us know if you have items and we will pick them up.

Every day 16,000 children die from things we can prevent. I believe that number should be zero - which is why I just made a donation to UNICEF USA. Join me!

Time to clean out your closets--we are once again collecting donations for our 3rd Annual HALO Multi-family Garage Sale on Saturday November 4th. All money raised will be going to help kids in need including those in Puerto Rico & our own community affected by the hurricanes. Please let us know if you have any gently used furniture, clothes, jewelry, purses, household goods, toys or other items - we are happy to pick up or have items dropped off.
The more we have to sell, the more money we can raise!
Thank you everyone!
