I'm happy to see that you've made it this far and are interested in getting out of debt and building wealth.
I just want to share my debt free journey with you and show you that it is possible to live life in America
without debt.
My debt free journey actually started in 2014 with an IRS error. Fast forward to the end of 2020 they eventually figured out their mistake and I started getting checks from them. I decided to pay off some bills and it felt good. At that point, I decided I was going to put the rest of the money towards my existing debt.
I mentioned this to Amanda and we came up with a plan to not only pay off our credit cards, but to pay off ALL of our debt. She was
so relieved to just have a plan for our money.
So May of 2021 we started tracking all of our spending and it was eye opening on what we were spending. We had no idea where our money was going.
Come June 2021, we set up our first 'official' budget and it was actually freeing. Over the next 2 and a half years - we kept up with our
budget and were able to make our last debt payment on November 30th, 2023.
$65,501 in debt paid off! This included our various credit cards, cell phone 'payment plans', medical bills, both of our car loans, and over $30k in
student loans.
Yes it took 30 months to pay everything off, but along the way we were also able to pay CASH for numerous home repairs including a new
roof, HVAC system & fence. We had no debt from Christmases and were able to pay cash for numerous vacations including a Disney trip.
So, if someone like me can do it, you can too. Sometimes it's not easy but it's definitely doable for anyone - no matter what your
income is.
I've created this page to help you get out of debt with some real advice from someone who has been through it.
So give me a follow and I'll see you in the comments.
