You don’t start the same lineup every season just because it worked last year.

Why?
Because the game changes.

Insurance does too.

Every year the rules reset.
Keeping the same plan without reviewing it isn’t loyalty…
It’s autopilot.

Buying insurance isn’t sexy.
But losing money every month isn’t either.

Bob:
“I don’t need health insurance. If I get hurt or sick, I’ll just pay them $5 a month forever. They can’t do anything about it.”

Bob falls off his horse.
Breaks his leg.
Needs surgery.

Total hospital bill: $150,000

The hospital reduces it to $75,000 and sets up a 12-month payment plan.

That’s $6,250 per month.

Bob sends in his $5.

Bob gets served with court papers.

The hospital sues.

His wages get garnished.
A lien gets placed on his home.

Here’s the part most people don’t understand:

Hospitals are not required to accept a $5 per month payment.
And they are not stretching balances out over 10–20 years anymore.

Many now want payment plans that resolve balances within 12 months.

And here’s the kicker
By sending that $5, Bob legally acknowledges the debt — which can actually strengthen the hospital’s case in court.

Bottom line:

Buying health insurance isn’t sexy.
But neither is wage garnishment.

Protect yourself.
And if you’re going to buy coverage — don’t overpay for it.

Let’s make sure you’re covered the smart way.

Buying health insurance isn’t sexy.

But neither is writing a check every month for coverage that doesn’t fit your family.

Funny how we’ll research a $400 rifle scope for three weeks…
but pick a $1,200/month health plan in 20 minutes.

Commercials are cute.
Cartoons are memorable.

But when you need to understand deductibles, networks, subsidies, or whether your doctor is actually covered… you need strategy, not a mascot.

Call me.
Let’s build this the right way.

Buying health insurance isn’t sexy.

But neither is overpaying for it.

If you’re self-employed, 1099, day working, rodeoing, or building something without an HR department… don’t assume your current plan is your only option.

The “A” in ACA stands for Affordable —
but affordable depends on income, structure, and strategy.

And depending on your situation, you may have options available right now — not just during open enrollment.

Before you assume you’re locked in, let’s review it.

Protection Built on Strategy.

I’ve learned there are two kinds of health insurance in this world

Insurance for "every case"
Covers everything.
Also costs about the same as a car payment… every single month.

Insurance for "just in case"
Covers the big, scary, life-changing stuff —
and leaves room in your budget for groceries, gas, and actual life.

Most families don’t go to the doctor 20 times a year.
They just don’t want one hospital stay to turn into a financial disaster.

So the real question isn’t “Do you have insurance?”
It’s “Are you paying for coverage you rarely use?”

Be honest — would lower monthly cost or “cover absolutely everything” matter more for your household right now?

The Greathouse family braved the morning cold to hunt with us today and they didn’t go home empty handed thanks to Clay and his great dogs. They said they even enjoyed their day despite the cold. Thanks for coming and glad you had a great time. When this weather straightens up we will be back at it.

I’m going to say something that might make a few people uncomfortable…

Most Americans aren’t “bad with money.”
They’re stuck in a healthcare system that makes zero sense and punishes the middle class.

I’ve worked on the inside of healthcare — billing, denials, reimbursements, the stuff patients never see. I know exactly how often insurance actually pays… and how often it doesn’t.

That’s why I became licensed to sell health insurance on the side. Not to push plans — but to help people stop overpaying for coverage that was never designed to work for them in the first place.

If you’re self-employed, between jobs, or make “too much” to qualify for help but still feel crushed by premiums and deductibles… you’re not crazy.

There are options most people are never told about.

I’m not here to sell anyone anything in this post. I just want people to know they’re not alone — and they’re not stuck.

If this hits home, you’re exactly who I’m talking to.

Inflation in 2025:
🥩 Steak costs more
🏠 Rent costs more
🚗 Insurance costs more
💡 Literally everything costs more

Health insurance was about to join that list… until something unexpected happened.

ACA plans did go up this year — no sugar-coating that.
BUT the current rules now allow you to buy directly from the insurance carriers instead of being stuck inside the old government exchange pricing model.

Translation?
The middleman stepped aside… and prices came down.

So in the middle of one of the most expensive economies we’ve ever lived in, we just got a weird little gift:
👉 Better ACA plans
👉 Lower premiums
👉 More options

It’s like finding gas for $2.79 while everyone else is paying $4. 😎

If you’re paying too much for health insurance, this might be the one bill you can actually lower this year.
