18th Annual Capital Awards Banquet

18th Annual Capital Awards Banquet Our Annual Capital Awards Banquet will be November 5, 2016 at the Jacksonville Community Center. Recognizing ordinary citizens doing extraordinary things.

The SRS CAPITAL AWARDS began in 2000 to recognize that spirit of citizenship that compels men and women to step up in times of need and to encourage the growth and continuation of that spirit. Each year thirty to fifty persons are nominated for awards and from 10 to 18 persons are presented with awards in a variety of categories. The Capital Awards program is designed to give recognition to men an

d women whose service to their community is note worthy, but who might otherwise go un-noticed. The program has contributed to enhance the image of those otherwise known as the common man. This program reminds us that the ordinary man has in the past, and will in the future endure extraordinary things for the good of the community of which he is a vital part. The benefit dinner and awards program has brought hundreds of people together from scores of cities and states and established lasting relationships. Scores of good people have been recognized, lives have been changed and the community has been encouraged. Join us at the Jacksonville Community Center for the presentation of the SRS CAPITAL AWARDS for 2016 on Saturday November 5, 2016 beginning at 6:30 PM.

An unexpected but appreciated huge gesture from my congregation. McAlmont Church of Christ recently informed me and publicized that the church is planning an appreciation event in honor of my wife and me on August 31 at 4 pm. My profound gratitude to the leadership, and the membership for such kindness extended to us. I am highly indebted to you for your kindness and thoughtfulness and for the blessing and joy of serving as your minister. My heart floods with gratitude.
