Michael Giannetti was born in Ontario, Canada where he occupied the majority of his first seven years of his life playing hockey on the ice rink his dad built him in his backyard. Michael received a hockey scholarship to attend Culver Military Academy and was Captain of the JV ice hockey team from 1997-1999. He later returned to Texas and earned his high school diploma in 2001 from Lamar High School in Arlington, TX. He continued his studies at Texas Tech University in 2001, and received a minor in Communication Studies in 2004. He later graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006 with a B.A. After getting his diploma, Michael became interested in becoming a financial planner. He made it his goal and began his career as a Financial Professional at MetLife in 2006. While at MetLife Michael was mentored by two established financial planners, and learned what he calls the ‘Golden Rule’ of this business (which is: “ALWAYS DO THE RIGHT THING FOR YOUR CLIENTS”). After almost four years at MetLife Michael moved to New York Life Securities so he could run a more independent practice that used a personalized approach to financial planning. As his practice continued to grow, Michael was chosen to lead an office as a Partner with New York Life Insurance Company and later with AIG. Michael loves two elements most of the business: Helping his clients reach their goals; Helping driven financial professionals establish and flourish through building their own financial planning practice. Michael has always remained committed to advancing his education during his 11 years in the business. He remains active in the business community through his leadership in the National Association of Financial Advisors (NAIFA), the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and the Financial Services Professionals (FSP). From 2009 through 2014 Michael played a role as a lobbyist for NAIFA as a Political Activities Committee member. During this experience he traveled to Washington D.C. six times to meet with Senators and Congressman including Ted Cruz, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, John Cornyn, and several other national leaders. Michael is active in his community through his volunteer work at the Red Cross, Mission Arlington, coaching youth ice hockey, and also volunteering at various events at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. Michael was named Partner with Spectrum Financial Group on March of 2016. In addition to managing his practice, he is involved in financial professional development and management efforts at Spectrum. In this capacity he provides mentoring and coaching to assist other financial professionals in building their practice and providing for the planning needs of their clients. Michael’s practice is built on developing long term relationships and currently takes on new clients by referral only.
