On September 15th, the ISU Extension and Outreach for Black Hawk County helped host the first Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Connect (ISU CALS Connect) event at the Waterloo Career Center. The event connected high school students with exciting opportunities in agriculture and life sciences. This inaugural CALS Connect event, sponsored by BankIowa, successfully piloted a new model for student recruitment and career exploration.

65 students attended the event and had the opportunity to learn about 20+ majors within Iowa State University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences while connecting with alumni and industry professionals to learn about potential college and career paths.

Chuck Paulsen, BankIowa VP of Business & Ag Banking, spoke to students as part of a panel of industry professionals. BankIowa had an information booth at the event where BankIowa employees introduced students to internship opportunities with the bank. BankIowa is proud to support the ISU CALS Connect event and looks forward to participating again in the future!

Many employees from our Corridor market joined in the fun by walking in the Amana Colonies Oktoberfest Parade on Saturday, October 3rd! They dressed up a pickup truck with BankIowa banners and walked behind the truck handing out candy, glow sticks, chip clips, and donuts to the parade viewers. The weather was spectacular and it was a great event for BankIowans to attend in honor of our newest office in Amana! Prost!🍺

BankIowa is assisting Blue Star Mothers of Iowa with their 2026 Care Package Project! Our employees are donating requested items and giving monetary donations for our Iowa military personnel deployed or serving around the world.

We invite you to help our efforts by donating! You can drop off donations to any of our branches between October 1t through the 20th.

You may also write an encouraging note which will be inserted into a care package. Note cards are available at our branches for you to use or, if you prefer, you may use your own card.

Amana Office Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting!

Our new Amana office ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by our board of directors, members of the Corridor business and consumer banking staff, and customers. The ceremony was facilitated by Laura Sauser, the Community Director from Iowa County Community Development. Amana Office Manager, Kristin Dicken, cut the ribbon after an introduction by Laura Sauser and BankIowa CEO, Alison Urbina. It was a beautiful morning to kick off our new Amana office in style. We even had rays of light blessing us from above!
