BankIowa recently sponsored the Buchanan County 4-H/FFA Broiler Chick Project. Jake and Ashley Brennan picked up the baby chicks at the Extension Office on May 20th and took the chicks to their home. They are responsible for all the necessities such as adequate feed and shelter to raise the chicks to a healthy broiler weight of approximately eight pounds. Once the chicks are at this weight, Jake and Ashley will show the broilers at the Buchanan County Fair in a live broiler show. This is Jake's 3rd year and Ashley's 2nd year doing 4-H/FFA Broiler Project!

BankIowa employees volunteered this past Friday in support of the United Way of East Central Iowa’s Day of Caring event to paint rooms at the Area Substance Abuse Council - ASAC located in Cedar Rapids. You’ll see the group photo with the walls covered with decorative sayings and graphics and the after photo of the group with the freshly painted wall. Joining our team is ASAC Executive Director Stephanie Boesenberg (center dressed in black) and Larry Maeder, Director of Facility Operations (far left, dressed in salmon-colored shirt). It was a great day for our employees to pitch in and freshen up the ASAC interior!

The Cedar Valley Leadership Institute is designed to build community awareness while developing individual leadership skills, giving leaders a broader view of civic leadership responsibilities and opportunities here in the Cedar Valley.
