Daniel is an emerging technology and financial systems professional whose interests sit at the intersection of artificial intelligence, fintech, backend development, and software engineering.

As a Blaze Apprentice, he brings a technical lens to our work — bringing precise clarity to the market on how digital tools, systems, and innovation can be translated into practical financial solutions that serve people well.

Right now, Daniel is working toward his Blaze Equitable Finance Certification (BEFC) as he prepares to help democratize access to financial system building. We’re so excited about this work.

Tim is an emerging accounting and finance professional whose interests sit at the intersection of fintech, entrepreneurship, accounting, investing, and consulting.

As a Blaze Apprentice, he brings a precise, analytical lens to our work — helping translate financial concepts into practical insight, strengthening technical thinking, and contributing to the financial and strategic decisions that move our programs forward.

Right now, Tim is working toward his Blaze Equitable Finance Certification (BEFC) as he prepares to take on an increasingly important role in how Blaze Institute’s work is scaled and strengthened.

He is also growing his investment judgment through the Blaze Capital Initiative, where he continues to deepen his understanding of how capital can support small businesses and local economies.

Meet Jay Mayes, Jr. — The Creative Visionary. 📌

Jay is a multidisciplinary accounting and creative professional whose interests sit at the intersection of finance, storytelling, design, photography, videography, and brand experience.

As a Blaze Apprentice, he helps translate some of Blaze Group’s most innovative ideas into experiences people can actually see, feel, and understand — bringing a creative-director lens to how our programs are captured, produced, and shared.

Right now, Jay is working toward his Blaze Equitable Finance Certification (BEFC) as he prepares to play an increasingly important role in how Blaze Institute’s work is brought to life across digital platforms.

He’ll help shape the creative direction, production, and storytelling behind experiences designed to make complex ideas in finance and innovation feel engaging, relevant, and accessible.

Meet Kai Hardimon — The Cultural Economist. 💛

Kai is an economist, entrepreneur, and consultant whose interests sit at the intersection of community economics, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and capital access.

As a Blaze Apprentice, she brings a systems-oriented lens to our work — thinking deeply about how financial infrastructure, entrepreneurship, and community outcomes connect.

Right now, Kai is working toward her Blaze Equitable Finance Certification (BEFC) as she prepares for an important role in what we’re building next.

She’ll play a core role in the distribution strategy for Blaze Studio C³ — our Consulting Case Competition platform designed to help high school students across the country build fluency in business finance by solving real challenges faced by small businesses.

We’re building leaders here.
