Last night was our final game of the season and it was the most intense match yet. We played an undefeated team and up until the final two minutes we were winning. The kids were exhilarated. The opposition was very aggressive but our team stayed in there and gave them the business. We lost out in the final seconds for a 14-12 final score. We ended the season as 2nd in our age group. To see the growth of each player over the past 8 weeks has been so heart warming.
One of our parents wanted to give a handmade with love award to each of the players. Unknowingly they made one for both Coach Tim and I…. And it was soooo on point. Coordination of the Chaos is my assignment. Standing and sitting on the bench with the players was so rewarding. From talking ones down about their fears to encouraging them to get back out there to hearing about their day at school or struggles they were having. Keeping up with how many fouls a player had to who needed to come out for a refresh.
My husband has the easy job of what plays to run and with what players based on competition. (Just joking babe) 😉
It has been amazing working alongside my husband. To witness how much he cares about instilling the fundamentals of not only basketball but life into these children. Many don’t see or hear of all the things he does but the award of Coach Team First Tim sums it all up! Go Wildcats!!!
