🚨 CHILD ABANDONMENT CASE IN KATY 🚨

A Houston-area mother is now facing a felony charge after investigators say she left her two young daughters — just 11 and 6 years old — alone for weeks.

According to court records, the girls were forced to survive on their own from mid-February to the end of March—finding food, getting ready for school, and caring for each other with no adult supervision.

The oldest child reportedly became the caregiver — while also sending messages showing she was scared, overwhelmed, and didn’t have enough to eat.

Authorities say the mother, Rayshawna Dowdell, was out of state the entire time, communicating only through texts and giving instructions instead of being there in person.

🏠 When deputies arrived, they found the home unlocked, unkempt, and without enough food.

The situation only came to light after a concerned woman spoke to the children at a park and called authorities.

As of now, Dowdell is not in custody.
