Most people already have life insurance and may not be aware of certain benefits that they may be missing out on. Did you know that if you do not have living benefits in your life insurance policy, you are not covered if something happens to you and you survive?
So, most people don’t know what exactly living benefits are and that is how most people are missing out. Look, the thing is, I don’t like to see people going through PREVENTABLE things! Having living benefits PREVENTS the person who is covered (and their family) NOT loses the things that they worked so hard for, go in debt... you know, the real negative things that come from not being able to pay your bills after something tragic happens to you.
Okay, so let me break this down real quick:
Chronic illness; so basically, if you are unable to do two of the normal daily functions such as bathing, eating, dressing.. you know, things in that nature OR if you can’t do anything at all, you can accelerate your death benefits.
What do I mean? You can pull up to 95% out of your policy. The awesome thing about that is that this is NOT a loan, so you’ll NEVER have to worry about paying anything back.
Let me give you an example; So, let’s keep it simple and say that you have a $100,000 of coverage and you need $20,000 to help you stay afloat, well guess what... you can access that money that will go directly to you. Now because you no longer have the full $100,000 policy because you pulled out the $20,000 your policy is now reduced and so are your premiums. Your policy is STILL in forced and you just have to pay on the remaining portion of your life insurance. Not sure about you, but I think that’s pretty cool beans!
NOW that was regarding the chronic illness, let me tell you about our critical illness. So, if you suffer from a heart attack, stroke, cancer, kidney failure, organ transplant, or things like that or if you become terminally ill with less than a year to live, or you get into an accident and you have a traumatic brain injury or go into a coma, you can also access your policy to help you maintain your quality of life.
Just to make sure that we are on the same page regarding the Accelerated Benefits Rider (which are automatically included in your policy), I’m going to explain a little bit more about them.
Terminal Illness - this is if you are diagnosed with an illness or chronic condition that gives you only two (2) years or less of life expectancy.
Chronic Illness -this is if you are unable to do two (2) out of six (6) activities of your daily living functions or if you become cognitively impaired. The daily activities include:
Bathing
Dressing
Eating
Continence
Transferring
Toileting
Critical Illness - if you suffer a heart attack, cancer, stroke, major organ transplant, sudden cardiac arrest, and more.
Critical Injury - if you do happen to experience a coma, paralysis, severe burns, or a traumatic brain injury.
