From time to time, the Credit Union's field of membership changes to allow additional groups to join. Houston Metropolitan Federal Credit Union is different from other financial institutions because it is owned by the members who save and borrow here. The Credit Union was chartered for the purpose of offering a benefit to our members (both savers and borrowers ) that gives them an economic advantage over other financial institutions with the same or similar services. Members are united by common bonds and democratically operate the Credit Union under federal regulation. Members elect from among themselves the volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors, which sets policies and establishes bylaws for the credit union. The job of running the day-to-day operation of the Credit Union is delegated to the professional staff. After deducting expenses and funds for reserves, as required by law, Credit Union income is returned to the members as dividends on savings, as lower interest on loans and/or as free or low-cost special services.

We brought the PTCU team to the McCarty crew's tailgate this week with donuts and kolaches, and spent the morning at the table walking through auto loans, accounts, and rates with anybody who had a question.

Thanks to everyone who came by and talked shop with us, and thanks to McCarty for having us out there.

Priority Trust Credit Union staff had the privilege of attending the 10th anniversary celebration of Jane E. Cheeks as Director of Human Resources for the City of Houston.

Priority Trust Credit Union has served Houston's public servants since 1929, and Jane has been a dedicated advocate for the credit union throughout her 10 years in the role.. She consistently goes above and beyond on our behalf, and we are fortunate to count her among our strongest supporters.

Introducing My Priority Story, a new spotlight series where we share the stories of the people who make Priority Trust special. 🎉

First up: Lloyd, who's spent three years with the PTCU team in Resolutions.

Say "Resolutions" and most people picture debt collection, plain and simple. Lloyd sees it differently. To him, it's about walking alongside members through their financial journey, meeting them where they are, and helping them find a path forward.

As Lloyd put it:
"We don't come to collect, we come to connect."
