CMS is doing an anti-fraud crack down on shady / unauthorized enrollments and clawing back about $2.2 billion in improper subsidy dollars. About 315,000 policies/ 760,000 people have been cancelled. Have you checked the status of your plan?

I've been wanting to offer this for quite a while, and I'm excited to finally roll it out!

One of the biggest challenges in health insurance can be the language barrier. I'm happy to say that I can now offer live (real human) translation during my calls and appointments, allowing me to help people in almost all major languages around the world.

I'm a little worked up...

One thing I (Alek Timmons) take a lot of pride in is honesty and transparency with my clients.

Recently, I worked very hard to get a family approved for what is arguably one of the best private health insurance plans available in the US. Compared to similar coverage, I was saving them close to $1,000 per month.

This wasn’t a basic plan either... we’re talking about excellent PPO coverage, access to top doctors and hospitals nationwide, and protection that could truly make a difference financially if something major ever happened. Plans like this are also very difficult to qualify for, and many families simply can’t get approved. Thankfully, I was able to get their entire family accepted.

A few days later, I received a cancellation request.

The reason? Someone at the front desk of a doctor’s office told them the insurance was “garbage” and encouraged them to cancel it. Unfortunately, the information they were given about how the plan worked was completely inaccurate.

That part is genuinely upsetting to me.

Not because I lost a client... that happens sometimes... but because a family may have walked away from life-changing coverage based on advice from someone who was never trained or licensed to evaluate health insurance plans in the first place.

This is exactly why I always encourage people to ask questions, do research, and speak with professionals who actually specialize in coverage before making major decisions about their healthcare and financial protection.

Truly sad and upsetting. I feel bad for the kids.

If the government offers a program, it's going to be PERFECT and it'll be GREAT 😅😅

Let's face it, some of us are tired of government programs like the ACA/Obamacare. Almost nobody accepts it! We can change that and probably save you a big chunk of change at the same time. Say bye to that $10k Max-out-of-pocket!

It's fairly common for me to find a really good, affordable private PPO plan for a family that doesn't cover everything—such as standard maternity benefits.

Here's a great real-world example of why that might not be a big deal at all:

One hospital billed $34,000 for a birth through insurance, but casually reduced it by $30,000 when my client chose to pay cash—dropping the out-of-pocket cost dramatically.

For comparison, a birth center (which often provides excellent, personalized care) typically costs around $7,500 cash for an uncomplicated birth.

Under Obamacare/ACA plans (which do mandate maternity coverage), you're usually limited to an HMO network, and the average maximum out-of-pocket cost for a family is $8,000–$10,000 (or higher in some cases, depending on the plan year and specifics).

Bottom line: For an uncomplicated birth, you often end up spending more overall by routing it through insurance than by simply paying cash (or using a cash-pay discount). This makes a solid private PPO plan—despite missing some maternity perks—the smarter, more flexible choice for many families.
