🌀 IT'S GETTING THAT "LOOK" ... A TROPICAL STRUCTURE
On this Monday morning, 8/31, Texas is watching a developing tropical system. The satellite view indicates what appears to be a somewhat rapidly-developing low.
Hurricane Hunters are scheduled to fly-in at 9am today, and it's possible they find winds of at least 39mph, upgrading this to a tropical storm for the 11am NHC advisory. is the next name. Sometimes systems in this area can rapid develop far beyond what models indicate so the Gulf Coast is not letting their guard down.
Regardless of what it becomes, flash flooding will be a potential starting tomorrow, in southeast Texas from Houston to Beaumont to Waco and even up toward Dallas.
No threats to Florida, but a reminder that as we approach the peak of the hurricane season, we remain vigilant.
