Women of Impact Celebrating Santa Barbara women who are creating positive social impact through courage, compassion and collaboration.

Caroline Harrah works in the financial services industry; is a mother of two children; and is a passionate volunteer serving multiple local non-profits in Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is unique in many ways but most significantly in its fervent and unyielding desire to give back. Caroline believes that it’s important to celebrate one another’s successes. There is much we can learn from each other... particularly in our personal pursuits to live with intention and make the world a better place. Representing a diversity of backgrounds and experience, women featured on this page will be unified by their courageous pursuit to challenge the status quo and create positive social change. Feature stories will describe each woman's journey, offering insights that others might use in their own philanthropic, creative, and business pursuits. Community members are encouraged to share their own stories! To nominate a Santa Barbara Woman Making Impact, please contact Caroline Harrah. She can be reached at 805-259-9379 or [email protected]

Happy Mother's Day! This month, I had the honor of interviewing Tracy Bollag -- philanthropist, activist, and devoted wife and mom. Her most significant legacy, she says, will be raising her two boys, Justin and Jordan, to possess a “worldview”: instilling in them the courage to explore the new and unfamiliar to promote justice and peace and find their place and purpose in the world. Read my story on Tracy in this month's Hope Ranch Living Magazine (images and full story below). Photography: Monica Watts Montigny

Happy Mother's Day to ALL making an Impact! This month we recognize Trudi Carey -- a devoted mother, successful entrepreneur, architect, real estate developer and philanthropist. Trudi has never forgotten what it meant to be recognized through scholarship. To pay it forward, she has volunteered for the last 17 years for the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara – an organization dedicated for over 54 years to supporting local students in pursuit of higher education through financial aid counseling and the granting of scholarships.

AND, if you're interested in volunteering / sponsoring (through your company), please let me know. We are looking for a single financial sponsor to be our headliner... money will be used to pay for simple expenses related to running the program at Santa Barbara Junior High School (where we are launching)!
