As my children were growing up, our home was always a place where money, investing, the stock market, and real estate were part of everyday conversation.
Not in a heavy or preachy way, just as part of life.
As they got older, the questions came naturally:
What is a stock?
Why does the market go up and down?
How do you actually make money from investing?
One day, I discovered that my son was already investing in cryptocurrencies.
When I asked where he had learned all this, the answer was simple: YouTube, podcasts, short videos.
At first, there were gains. A lot of excitement. A strong sense of confidence.
Then came the losses - and in my view, that’s where almost the his entire initial investment disappeared.
About a year and a half ago, my kids also began investing in stocks.
And honestly? There were some very nice successes.
But watching from the side, it was clear to me that something important was missing:
the foundation.
An understanding of risk, time, process, and what financial decisions really mean over the long run.
That’s when I decided to stop - and start writing.
Not more content that promises a “quick win,” but a friendly, practical introduction to the world of investing.
One that explains how to build the right process, how to think long term, and how to make your money work for you - not the other way around.
This book is first and foremost for young investors, who deserve to begin their journey with solid foundations and a real understanding of the rules of the game.
But it’s also a book for parents.
Parents who may not come from a financial background, but want to understand
what their son or daughter is doing for hours in front of a screen,
and what really lies behind the charts they see.
Because in the end, investing isn’t just about numbers.
It’s a language, a way of thinking, and a responsibility - and it’s worth learning it properly, from the very beginning.
