SOLICITING BAIL AGENTS
Mississippi Licensed / Future Licensed Agents
We are seeking motivated individuals to work as soliciting bail agents, meeting with inmates in jails and police departments to secure their release on bond.
This is a commission-based, self-employed opportunity in a highly competitive field. Your income is directly tied to your availability, initiative, and ability to assess risk properly.
⸻
How to Qualify
To become a bail agent in Mississippi, you must complete the required 40-hour pre-licensing education course through a provider approved by the Mississippi Department of Insurance.
If you are not yet licensed, you must be willing to complete this requirement.
⸻
Who We’re Looking For
• Self-motivated individuals who can work independently
• Husband-and-wife teams encouraged
• Military veterans welcome
• Persons with physical disabilities welcome
• Strong communicators with professional presentation
We are not currently seeking full-time bounty hunters. While locating and surrendering defendants is part of the job, our primary role is professional bail bonding.
⸻
Core Responsibilities
Bail agents must be able to:
• Use computer systems and internet-based programs
• Maintain clear handwriting and accurate documentation
• Communicate professionally with inmates
• Gather and evaluate information to determine flight risk
• Speak with family members to arrange financial agreements
• Track bonded clients through completion of court
• Notify clients of court dates and changes
• Appear in court when required
• Locate and surrender defendants when necessary
We do not bond everyone who calls. Risk evaluation and sound judgment are essential.
⸻
Compensation
• Agents are self-employed
• Paid on commission
• The agent who writes the bond earns a percentage of collected funds
• Percentage increases are based on experience, knowledge, and demonstrated judgment
• Earnings increase with availability and performance
There are no guaranteed hours. Your production determines your income.
⸻
Requirements
• Minimum age: 21
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• Personal cellphone
• Device with internet access at all times
• Ability to pass regular background checks
• Weekly reporting to our D’Iberville office to submit paperwork (until additional locations open)
⸻
This is not a desk job. It is not television. It is not a hobby.
It is responsibility, judgment, paperwork, court appearances, and sometimes uncomfortable conversations.
If you are dependable, disciplined, and willing to learn how to properly evaluate risk, this can be a strong income opportunity.
⸻
“Bail bonding isn’t what we do — it’s who we are.”
