I don’t know who needs to hear this but... 🗣 Take the leap, Sis!

Breaking out of the familiar is scary! Trust me, I know but you miss 100% of all the shots you don’t take! If you’re scared then do it scared! I am doing alot of things scared these days but I am stepping outside of my comfortable little bubble and jumping by faith!

The bible speaks about how Faith without works is dead (James 2:14-26). Lets break down the word dead. For something to be dead it has to had once been alive but now lacks the POWER to move, feel, or respond. Okay now lets break down works. Works - activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result.

So Faith without (Works) mental or physical effort (Dead) lacks power to move, feel or respond!

You’ve prayed and now it’s time to put action behind it! I’ll see you at the finish line 🏁

A lesson I have learned and am mastering from 2020 is letting go of what no longer serves me.

I am a save it, I might be able to wear it later kind of girl but the truth of the matter is some things run their course. Things I played with, company I kept and clothes I wore as a little girl no longer serve me as an adult woman.

Being transparent, letting of the familiar brings about a level of guilt, fear and anxiety because We’ve been programmed to think letting go of people as hurtful, letting go of things as wasteful, and letting go of toxic thought patterns as just too hard but in reality letting go of whatever no longer serves you is the most freeing and loving thing you can do for yourself! It also doesn’t mean you no longer love what you’re letting go. It means that we love ourselves enough to acknowledge what is no longer working.

Ask yourself is this job, situation, opportunity, relationship, house, car, mental state, habit.. etc serving me for the right reasons and in the capacity it did before and if the answer is no then it’s time to shed some leaves, Sis

It wasn’t until recently that I realized that my confidence and how I esteemed myself was built upon the company I kept, validation from men, the size of my bank account, what I was driving, the prestige of a title in corporate America and the list goes on. I had built my confidence on sandcastles and one day, one by one the water came rushing in they were washed away. I found myself not knowing who I was outside of those things. As I drew closer to God I started to realize that none of that stuff made me who I was. I really started loving myself which is ultimately how my fitness journey...

Today I would love to say that I’ve broke the code and have it figured all out but the truth is EVERYDAY you have to choose to love yourself flaws and all. EVERYDAY you have to make a decision to choose confidence.

We don’t always feel pretty, smart, worthy or loved and that’s perfectly fine but don’t let temporal feelings define how you! Choose confidence, Chose YOU!

Today is Chapter 1 of 365! You have the opportunity right now to shape how you want this year to go! Let’s start with your finances.

Like most people you probably spent too much money during the holidays (I’m guilty too) but now it’s time to rectify that.

Sit down today with a journal, pen & laptop (iPad or tablet) and pull up your bank statements from January 2020 to December 2020 (If not yet available look over December’s transactions).

You can either print them out or write them down. Tally up how much money you spent the entire year. Break the transactions down into categories: Food, Clothes, Bills, Holiday Gifts, Direct Deposits & Miscellaneous. This way you’ll be able to see in black and white how much money you spent, how you spent your money as well as how much you earned vs how you spent it.

Once that’s done create you a budget for the year and include one for gifts. Stick to your BUDGET! Cut out all unnecessary spending! If you can’t afford to buy it twice don’t buy it at all and PLEASE don’t blow your Stimulus.

This year we’ll be rolling out a lot of cool financial goodies as well as a huge collaboration stay tuned and get to budgeting😉

Get Up, Sis! We’re almost at the finish line 🏁

2020 has been something else. Things we never thought would happen have all happened in 2020. Due to the pandemic, we’ve all been forced in a way to really face ourselves. Many of us have been in isolation and this list goes on. In those circumstances naturally depression, confusion, defeat amongst other things would try to creep in.

For me, 2020 has been emotionally rough. Just here recently I went through something that I really didn’t think that I would recover from but I knew I had to get up! I couldn’t stay in the dark place! It was costing me too much to stay down! How can I lay down and accept defeat when God is my Father?!

It’s easy to stay down but you’ve got too much life in you and you’ve come too far to stop here! No matter what you have to do - Get Up, Sis ❤️

I am probably my worst critic. Sometimes it’s hard for me to see the beauty in me or acknowledge all that I’ve accomplished due to me focusing on everything that I’m not or what I’ve not done.

This morning I decided to finishing listening to ’s new album and I made it to the last song titled POV and in the song she sings about her wanting to see herself from the point of view of this particular person she loves. I immediately thought “Man I’d love to see me from God’s point of view”. How powerful it would be for me to view myself from God’s perspective! It’s easy for us to change ourself to fit the standards of others but for us to be able to see ourselves the way the Father sees us will make us see that “I’m not so bad”, “I am Beautiful”, “I am smart”, “ I am powerful - JUST THE WAY I AM”... this week during your prayer I challenge you to start asking God to allow you to see you the way He does ❤️

On Wednesdays we WORKOUT!!

Exercising, especially in the mornings is like giving your body that natural cup of coffee!

Some key benefits are:

🏋🏾‍♀️ Increases your physical energy
🧘🏾 Aides in boosting mental energy
💁🏾‍♀️ Improves your mood
🌬 Improves your breathing
🧠 Helps you maintain a stronger level of focus
💫 Supports healthy weight loss

To make it make it fun since most of us are working from home invite your bestie to workout with you! If you’re just getting into fitness start off slow with walking. Walk 3 days a week for 30 minutes and as you build that level of consistency increase your workouts and the duration. Your body will thank you!
