3 things your home insurance doesn't cover 👇

1️⃣ Floods — no standard policy covers flood water.
2️⃣ Earthquakes (and sinkholes) — excluded unless endorsed.
3️⃣ Sewer backup — not covered unless you add it, and it's usually just a few dollars a month.

Two senators — one Democrat, one Republican — are asking the country's biggest home and auto insurers to explain how many claims they're closing with zero payout. The Wall Street Journal found some homeowners face nearly a coin flip on whether their claim pays out.

If a claim of yours ever gets closed with no payment: ask for the denial in writing, ask which part of the policy they're pointing to, and don't walk away from it without a second set of eyes.
