I love doing real estate. Like in anything, the stress is always there, and no two deals are ever the same. You always have to remember that there are so many different ways to succeed—on both the buying and selling sides.
Keeping an open mind and building trust through every interaction is vital. I’m a bit "old school" in my approach with people; my word and a firm handshake mean just as much to me as the contract we sign. If I say I’m going to do something, I hold up my end of the deal.
This current property is a perfect example of that trust in action. It’s an off-market deal with a well-qualified buyer who happens to be a family friend. They were eager to get a head start on renovations before closing—ripping out carpet and prepping the floors so they can move right in. Because we've built a solid relationship, I was happy to let them get to work early.
We also just found out the property appraised for $25,000–$30,000 over our contract price, which is a massive win for them. Plus, as part of our agreement, we just had a brand-new HVAC system with central air and oil backup heat installed to lock in their peace of mind.
Every project throws a new curveball, but trusting others and seeing the good in people makes the ride incredibly rewarding. 🏠🤝
