Meriwether County's Young Farmers & Ranchers Interest Meeting, which was held on Tuesday, January 6th, was a great success!
Joseph and Sadie Branch, our YF&R Co-Chairs, hosted a fantastic Low Country Boil at the Greenville Baptist Church! We had 20 people attend, including Levi Davis (State YF&R Program Director), Kari Creamer (District 5 Federation Manager), and Stuart Gregg (The NEW District 5 YF&R Chair).
Four of our current YF&R members were there, and we had SEVEN prospective young farmers attend. Many of them told me after the meeting that they were excited to learn more about this group. A few of them said they were shocked to find out that a group like this even exists. They all expressed an interest in joining an organization that was dedicated to supporting young farmers and ranchers as they get started in agriculture.
Special thanks to Joseph and Sadie Branch for planning and hosting this event. They did a wonderful job! We also appreciated having our County Board's President and Vice President, Kenneth Murphy and Jeff Scogin, offer their support and answer questions about our County Farm Bureau Organization in Meriwether.
If you are between the ages of 18 and 35, involved in farming or ranching, interested in agriculture and advocating for Georgia Farmers, and want to learn more about how YOU can join the Meriwether County Young Farmers and Ranchers...
