Important Notice Regarding UHC and Humana Prescription Drug Plans

UnitedHealthcare (UHC) and Humana are removing access to their Prescription Drug Plans from broker quoting and comparison systems on November 9th. Because of this, we will no longer have the ability to view or compare their drug plans — meaning we are unable to provide guidance or recommendations on their Part D offerings at this time.

For years, we have helped clients compare drug plans without receiving compensation from many, if not most carriers for this service. Unfortunately, with these plans now blocked from broker tools entirely, we can no longer provide analysis.

If you are concerned or would like this access restored, we encourage you to contact your elected representatives as well as 1-800-MEDICARE to file a complaint and express how this change affects your ability to receive independent advice.

We remain committed to helping you in every way we are able and will continue to support you with all plans still available to us.

🚨 Heads Up! If you have your Medicare Advantage or Prescription Drug Plan premiums automatically taken out of your Social Security check, here’s something you need to know:

💡 There’s been a delay this year!
Social Security is still pulling premium amounts based on 2024 plans instead of the 2025 updates. That means some people are seeing the wrong amounts taken out of their checks.

💰 The Good News?
Social Security knows about the issue and is already working to fix it. They’ve said it could take up to 90 days to sort everything out and refund any extra payments that were taken.

For now, there’s no action needed on your end—just keep an eye on your statements and reach out if you have any questions.

To my clients who have Kynect Marketplace plans: Open Enrollment is a chaotic time as we review a large number of cases, replace plans exiting the market and deal with numerous system glitches.

FYI…
1.5 million beneficiaries will be getting a new medicare card. Medicare was hacked.

So if you get a new card it’s NOT a scam. You’ll start using that going forward. Save the old card for reference and write OLD on the front of the card so you know which to give to your insurance company and doctors.

You will need to call your advantage company, your medicare supplement company, your drug company customer service and give them your new 9 digit medicare number or call your agent to take care of updates.

ATTENTION ANYONE ON MEDICARE OR SOON-TO-BE: There are big changes coming next year. If you work with an agent, please make sure that you do a review of your drug coverage this fall. The changes coming sound good on the surface, but as most things the government does, it’s confusing at best.
If you do not have an agent and reside in Kentucky, Ohio or West Virginia please reach out. I am happy to help.
If you are one of my clients, please pay close attention to your mail towards the end of September as you will be getting your ANOC (Annual Notice Of Change) which needs to be read in full.
It is important to note that insurance companies may be forced to make some drastic changes because of this new ruling. Don’t panic! Just reach out for some help. If not me then another licensed broker in your area.
