Through my both my career and networks I have been involved with I have worked with, studied with and participated in masterminds with contractors and some of the best all around people I know from coast to coast. I have learned the profound importance in having and maintaining accurate data, establishing proper and effective processes that can be scaled and duplicated, establishing targets, maintaining discipline and have a sound financial understanding in your realm of influence. Having always had a passion for learning and improving my skill sets I have an even greater passion to teach others how these things have helped and more importantly how they can help them. My why, on the simplest level, is to help people in the trades understand their potential and achieve success. I firmly believe that even though there are principles and processes that can be implemented in almost every company, a cookie cutter, one size fits all approach is not the most effective approach. Each company I have worked with, either as my client or an employee has had unique circumstances and challenges. If you are checking your bank balance to see how you are doing you are doing it wrong. Having software can give you a clearer picture (and save your sanity). Most accounting software have reports built in that'll give you the 411 on your business in a snap.

Oh, and pro tip. Your software and reports are for you, not your tax preparer, not your bookkeeper and not the loan officer at the bank. Set up correctly they can work for everyone but make sure they work for you first and foremost.
