Hello all! I am so happy to turn the page to 2026! 2025 was a difficult year for health insurance. Medicare carriers such as BCBS, Molina, and U of M Health Plans changed or canceled their plans, so I had to find new plans for my valued clients. Some of the under 65 year olds who are higher income earners lost their IRS subsidies with the 2026 Obamacare plans, so I enrolled them into Short Term Medical plans to avoid the skyrocking costs of the Obamacare or ACA plans.

I truly enjoy solving the health care and retirement concerns of the wide variety of clients I have. The Kettering Alum deal is a win-win, and I am enjoying connecting with other alums, especially as they ponder retirement and their health care insurance decisions.

Happy New Year to you all!

Are you thinking about retiring and want to make sure that your health insurance is in place? I can help by showing you how to apply for your social security retirement, apply for the two parts of Medicare, and look at either Medicare supplements or Medicare advantage plans. Please feel free to get a hold of me and we can look at some options for you.

Still sad that the Lions are done for the season. Was so much fun to be a fan in 2024! I wish the best for the entire team & coaches, and want to thank them all for such a fun season.

I was so happy to see the Federal Government provide increases to Social Security checks (COLA - cost of living) that so many seniors depend on as their sole income source. How unfortunate that the State of Michigan, which has been wonderful to low-income, low-assets seniors throughout the COVID pandemic, decided that a response to many getting a raise in their social security check is to take away benefits like Medicare Part B premiums which is $185 a month this year. So many seniors were given a raise in income just to deal with a loss of state benefits. So a single person making $1500 a month from social security with no other income, is facing a cut of $185 a month from losing their Medicare Part B premium benefit. They are already struggling to pay rent, utilities, transporation, food and for other things such as medicine copays. How could this happen? Can anything be done?
