Vacation booked. Passport blocked. 😬

Most people don’t realize serious tax debt can affect your passport… until it suddenly becomes very real.

One of our clients was preparing to leave the country with his wife when the IRS stepped in.

Ryan Smith and Bill Bergman got to work and helped resolve the issue quickly.

We started this firm with one focus: tax law. Not as one of many practice areas, but as the only thing we do. This recognition is a reflection of that commitment and of every client who trusted us with their most stressful financial challenges.

Me creating a tiny tax problem:
“I’ll fix it eventually.”

The tax problem six months later:
"I thought we had something special."

If you’ve been side-eyeing an IRS letter instead of opening it…respectfully, this is your sign.

Being self-employed sounds great until tax season shows up uninvited 😅

Nobody hands you a playbook for things like:
→ Saving for taxes
→ Quarterly payments
→ What you can actually write off

And those little misses? They add up fast.

The good news: most tax problems start small and are fixable when you deal with them early.

If you’re self-employed, consider this your reminder to stop hurdling tax season blind 🏃

Self-employed and have a tax question? Comment “SELF EMPLOYED,” and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Tax issues can have a major impact on divorce settlements, yet they are often overlooked until it's too late.

This weekend, Judson Mallory, Partner at Wiggam Law, joined Drew Snider of Snider & Snider Family Law to present Magic Beans & Money Matters: A Guide to Tax Issues in Divorce at the Family Law Institute at the Omni Amelia Island.

Their session explored the tax implications of divorce and highlighted strategies to help attorneys and clients avoid costly surprises while planning for the future.

Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the discussion. We appreciate the opportunity to share insights and collaborate with family law professionals from across the state.

Can the IRS take your paycheck?
Unfortunately… yeah. 😬

If tax debt sits too long, the IRS can garnish your wages and, in some cases, take most of your check before it even hits your account.

The worst strategy? Pretending the problem will disappear.

IRS letters do not get less serious when ignored.

If the IRS has your attention, it might be time to talk to Wiggam Law before your paycheck gets smaller.

“Can I go to jail for tax problems?”

The short answer: probably not for forgetting a W-2. 😅

The IRS is usually dealing with people who:
Did not file for years
Hid income
Committed fraud
Or tried to get a little too creative

Most tax problems are a lot less dramatic:
Back taxes
Missed payments
IRS letters sitting unopened on the counter 👀

Watch as we break down when tax problems become criminal… and when they are just fixable.

If this lands, it’s your sign to handle your tax problems. 👀

At Wiggam Law, we help people deal with the tax issues most avoid for way too long:

IRS notices
Back taxes
Unfiled returns
Tax liens
Wage garnishments
Audits
Payment plans
Offer in Compromise cases
State tax problems

And the stress that comes with all of it

Most people wait until the problem gets bigger. More penalties. More interest. More letters. The earlier you deal with it, the more options you usually have.

For 10 years, Wiggam Law has helped individuals and businesses navigate tax problems and find real solutions.

So if this video feels oddly specific… maybe take the hint.

You are named executor of an estate. There is unpaid tax debt.

Can the IRS come after you personally?
The answer is not as simple as you think.

One wrong move, like distributing assets before resolving taxes, can shift liability from the estate… to you.

This is where many executors get caught off guard.

If you are handling an estate, you need to understand this before taking action.
