Praying for Ava Kate

Praying for Ava Kate Ava Kate Chambers and her journey. Romans 8:18 Paypal donations can be sent to robchamberswf@clearwi Ava is a bright light in the lives of all who know her.

Ava Kate was born on October 4, 2009 to Rob and Becky Chambers. Ava loves her big sister, Emma Grace (age 8), and her new brother, Robert "Hudson" (4 months). Her precious spirit and beautiful smile will melt your heart! On May 16, 2012, Ava was diagnosed with Leukemia, at the young age of 2 1/2. The type of leukemia was confirmed as AML, Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. This is an aggressive type whic

h progresses rapidly and is typically fatal within weeks or months if left untreated. While Daddy and Mommy rely on our perfect God to make sense of this all, they see His blessings even during this most difficult time. You see, God knew exactly what He was doing when he created Ava (Psalm 139:13). Sweet Ava Kate was born with Down Syndrome. Amazingly, for children with Down Syndrome, leukemia treatment is more successful than for other kids. They have substantially higher survival rates and lower relapse rates. While those statistics seem promising, your prayers are still greatly needed for Ava and the Chambers family. Her journey through this all has barely begun. She has been removed from her structured environment and placed in the care of multiple doctors and nurses where she will remain for up to 7 months for treatment. We ask that you pray fervently for Ava to respond well to the treatments and that God will wrap His arms tightly around the Chambers Family becoming more real to them than ever before as they endure what God has planned. Rob and Becky are extremely thankful for all of the love and support they've received. Keep it coming! Galations 6:2

An account has been set up at Bank of America to help offset the unexpected expenses that the Chambers Family is incurring. Your financial support will help them maintain two households while Rob and Emma remain primarily in their hometown of Wichita Falls and Becky, Ava, and Hudson live in Fort Worth for the duration of Ava's treatment (at least 6 months). Deposits can be made at any Bank of America, nationwide, to account #488038790496 for Rob or Rebekah Chambers. Donations can also be made to Rob's PayPal account by sending a gift through PayPal to [email protected]

Friday, 1-10-14

Today, Ava has her 1 year checkup at Cook Children's. We will be going in to do her normal routine blood checks and also this time they will be doing a few other tests including an EKG. One of the Chemo meds she was on has the potential to damage or weaken the heart so as a precaution they like to monitor it.

Unknown to us until they did the first EKG to establish a baseline, Ava has a small, imperceptible whole in her heart. The doctor said it was covered with a small membrane wish is why no one else have heard it and it never caused a problem. We just pray today that the Chemo did not cause any issues with that spot.

We'll put up one more update after the appointment to let you all know how it goes. Thanks for your prayers!

-Rob

P.S. Some of our good friends, the people who actually started this page for us, organized many fundraisers including the designing and selling of the t-shirts to help raise money for us, just recently lost their twin boys. Angie and Gary went above and beyond for us during a rough time for us so the least we can do for them during such a difficult time is lift them up to our Heavenly Father.

Pray for peace, comfort and strength as they move forward with their lives. They have been such an encouragement so far with their display of faith and allowing God to lead and guide even when the circumstances around them were not that great. Especially pray for them tomorrow as we gather to celebrate the life's of Cannon and Coyt.
