Meet our President and CEO Jeff Iannone.

Jeffrey A. Iannone has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined SunTrust Bank in 1991 and later moved to Bank of America as an Assistant Vice President. In 1998 he founded Iannone & Associates, Inc., an investment advisory and tax preparation/planning firm where he served as President until transitioning to fee-based asset management in 2001. In 2003, along with two partners, he formed Ables, Iannone, Moore & Associates, Inc. where he serves as President and Chief Executive officer. Iannone holds the Series 65 license through Ables, Iannone, Moore & Associates.

Iannone graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Finance and subsequently obtained a Master of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning from Georgia State University. He has served as Chairman of the Finance Committee and Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Benedictine Military School in Savannah, GA. Mr. Iannone also served on the Board for Coastal Victims Assistance Services a group that supports victims of tragedies such as fires or other disasters. Iannone has also spent years as a volunteer and coach for youth sports programs with the City of Savannah, Chatham County, and Blessed Sacrament Catholic School. He founded the Blessed Sacrament School Booster Club. He was named the 2006 Coach of the Year by the Coastal Georgia Soccer Association.

In 2007, Iannone was named one of the Savannah Business Report & Journal’s 40 under 40, a listing of Savannah’s influential young business leaders. Mr. Iannone was the 2009 recipient of the Colonel Koszewski Award presented by Benedictine Military School. Mr. Iannone is the youngest ever to receive this award, the school’s highest honor, which recognizes an alum for volunteer service to the school.

The 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season has already seen 19 named storm days. That’s the 7th most on record through July 23 since 1851. The only years with more are 2008, 2005, 1933, 1916, 1901 and 1886, although it’s important to note that named storm days may historically be underestimated, especially prior to the “satellite era” (which began in 1966).

We’re approaching the point in the Atlantic Hurricane Season when activity begins to increase. This should keep things interesting, especially because the Sea Surface Temperatures (SST) are extremely warm. When SSTs are this warm we have a better chance of seeing “near coastal” storm development, so the Gulf of Mexico will need to be closely monitored for the rest of the season.

Currently, we continue to monitor a unnamed invest storm about 650 miles east of the Windward Islands, this storm still have a chance of brief development; however, by mid-week conditions become much less favorable. As for Don, the storm hit Hurricane status over the weekend, now back to a Tropical Storm, Don is the first Hurricane of the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season. On average, the first Atlantic hurricane forms on August 11. Don will continue its long voyage into the North Atlantic towards the United Kingdom.
