I just saw this list of the top wholesale lenders from 2023. As a broker, I can shop loans with all of the highlighted companies as well as many more. This is the biggest difference between using a retail lender or a bank vs. a mortgage broker - you do not need to shop rates.
A few companies on the list are direct lenders who do not work with brokers and mainly sell only their products. Loan Depot, unfortunately closed their wholesale division last year when the market was hit.

Just helped another purchase client to receive clear to close in less than 20 days. Home purchases no longer take 30 days with a mortgage!
This one was actually ready to close after 5 days because we received an appraisal waiver but we had to wait for the estoppel.
