FORT COLLINS PEACE WITH RUSSIA DAY OF ACTION!
Saturday, February 5th, 11:30am-1:30pm
Oak Street Plaza, College Avenue, FC
We will gather in solidarity with thousands of people across the nation to demand an end to the drumbeat of war with Russia over Ukraine. The Pentagon recently announced that 3,000 U.S. troops are being moved to Eastern Europe, the majority of them to Poland — and another 8,500 troops remain on heightened alert.
We call on President Biden to end the U.S. role in escalating this extremely dangerous situation, and for Putin to do the same. It is gravely irresponsible for these two leaders to participate in brinkmanship while possessing 90% of the world’s nuclear weapons.
We demand a commitment to genuine diplomacy with serious negotiations – not military escalation, which could easily spiral out of control to the point of pushing the world to the precipice of nuclear war.
Bring your signs (and some to share). We welcome speakers, songs, and overall camaraderie. We all need to come out into the streets for peace.
For the joint statement to President Biden from more than 100 national and regional U.S. organizations released by the U.S Peace Council, and to sign the petition to President Biden and UN Secretary General, visit https://popularresistance.org/nowarwithrussia/
